Jesse Palter Receives National Recognition forTunezies.
Palter has been honored with two prestigious national grants recognizing her groundbreaking work at the intersection of jazz, songwriting and early childhood music.
In 2023, Palter was selected as a South Arts Jazz Road Creative Residencies grantee, which made it possible for her to record the very first Tunezies works in New Orleans with an all-star jazz band. Most recently, she has been named a 2025 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grantee, one of the highest honors in the jazz community.
For Palter, these awards are especially meaningful as they represent not only national recognition of her unique voice as a composer, but also vital support for her mission: to reimagine early childhood music through a songwriter’s lens. With Tunezies, she is creating a new repertoire of modern-day standards that foster connection, creativity, and a lifelong love of music for families everywhere.
